Covid - 19
Clevedon Gymnastics Centre CIC
COVID POLICY
Our new timetable is now confirmed and will commence on Monday 7th September 2020. We ask that parents and gymnasts to ensure they keep to the social distancing rules whilst waiting in the car park, which is currently cordoned off from vehicles to ensure there is enough space for social distancing. There are yellow crosses down the side of the car park in front of the shutter doors to assist with distancing whilst waiting to enter the gym.
Under the new tiers in England, British Gymnastics set out new guidance.
Tier 3: Outer clothing and shoes to be taken by parent/guardian. Gymnasts will be temperature checked before entry. We ask you wait with your child until they have been welcomed in for their class.
Tier 2: Outer clothing to be taken by parent/guardian. Gymnasts will be temperature checked before entry. We ask you wait with your child until they have been welcomed in for their class.
Tier 1: Gymnasts may come in with outer clothing and shoes.
Gymnasts will be required to keep their water bottles with them under all tiers as they rotate around the apparatus inside the gym.
Only gymnasts and coaches will be permitted entry into the building, except in emergencies. On arrival at the gym door gymnasts will be asked to pass their outer clothing to their parent/guardian to be taken away. On entering the reception area children will be asked to sanitise their hands. Their drinks bottle will be kept with them in the main gym so we ask that all drinks are in a container which does not require the removal of the lid to have a drink. Gymnasts will also be asked to sanitise their hands when using a new piece of equipment and finally sanitise their hands before they put their shoes on to leave.
Gymnasts will be arriving for classes at staggered times throughout the evening and parents are asked to wait outside until the children from the previous sessions have departed the building. Children will not be able to come into the building and wait for their session to start due to the limit on the number of people permitted in the building at any one time. Children will not be able to join their class if they arrive more than 10 minutes after their session has started.
It is important that children are collected on time so it does not impact on the next group of children attending or the need for coaches to remain in the gym with your child at the end of the evening. Gymnasts will not be allowed out of the building if the coach on the door cannot see who is collecting them.
Payment of fees either by card or online must be made prior to your child commencing their sessions. We are not accepting cheques or cash. If this is an issue please speak to Samantha Quantrill.
Coaches will not routinely wear face masks unless there is a requirement for them to break the social distancing rules or there is a need to approach another “bubble” within the gym. If there is an urgent need to step in to help a gymnast who may sustain injury if they are not supported/caught it would not be practical for a coach to put a mask on beforehand and in this instance social distancing will be ignored.
All equipment will be sanitised between each session and all floors and communal areas will be deep cleaned at the end of each day. Gymnasts needing to use the toilet will be escorted to the toilet area and they will be asked to wash their hands, dry them on paper towels and sanitise their hands before returning to their “bubble”.
If there is a risk that your child has been in contact with somebody with Covid 19 symptoms or has been advised that they should be isolating please do not bring them into the gym until the end of their 14 day isolation.
